Big game fishing 2 hours from Calgary Alberta to boat launch. All you need is your lunch for the day and an Alberta fishing license. Watch sturgeon come clear out of the water as the fight is on. Walleye, sauger, goldeye, pike, mooneye, and burbot are also caught while sturgeon fishing. The season is from May 8th to the end of October each year. The river valley and landscape is unique and scenic. Golden eagles and bald eagles nest on the high river banks. Mule deer, whitetail deer, coyote, bobcat, moose, and elk live along the river system. Many different kinds of birds can be watched like eagles, hawks, falcons, kingfishers, common terns, pelicans, blue herons, shore birds, pheasants, partridge, ducks, geese, and many different kinds of song birds.
